1394A external device can't be recognized

is there any one had experienced 1394A external device can't be recognized under OS?

4 ?% N' T% B% @$ UI encounter this kind of issue recently.

3 g+ _% w" w. p% POS is Vista & XP.

2 I3 ~: e! D) f& H- C# {8 J1394A controller is Ricoh.

+ m2 q' x! D, Z4 V6 bthe situation is I could see the removable icon shown on the system tray but there is no device in OS device manager.

indeed there are some differents but I don't know why.

I wonder it's caused by BIOS but how to prove it?
