1394A external device can't be recognized

I encounter this kind of issue recently.

6 d- L3 B& f+ J& {+ F5 x+ J3 L  R9 IOS is Vista & XP.

/ Y: H% g; i6 J' a' f9 ?, o1394A controller is Ricoh.

; ~% z9 v) Z8 b% rthe situation is I could see the removable icon shown on the system tray but there is no device in OS device manager.
% U! u8 G* H; i& G* x9 R
& j/ m+ K+ C' v. }indeed there are some differents but I don't know why.

$ m* W$ r) p5 Y, l# W/ G' NI wonder it's caused by BIOS but how to prove it?

is there any spec or document could let me refer to?
